This article summarizes how to use the ARC audio/video equipment and how to setup the sound and video at the front desk. In addition, this article will show you how to plug into the sound equipment at the stage in the ARC.
Display Settings
How to Connect to the ARC Apple TV on a Mac, iOS, iPad, iPod Touch or PC
Make sure to connect to the "ARC" Apple TV when connecting to Airplay using Screen Mirroring.

Changing the Display Source at the Desk
To change inputs on the video switcher, press the button located on the front. The LED’s correspond to reflect what input is selected.
- Input 1: Installed PC.
- Input 2: USB-C dock
- Input 3: HDMI cable
- Input 4: Apple TV
How to Change what the Projector Displays
You can change the input of the projector using the remote control located at the front desk of the ARC labeled “NEC”.
- On the remote, select the “input” button.
- Using the arrows on the remote, navigate to the desired input.
- HDMI 1 will replicate what is shown through the TV’s.
- HDMI 2 will show what is plugged into the HDMI port located on the center pillar of the ARC.
How to use the Ceiling Speakers
Set your audio settings to use the "HDMI SPLITTER" option to use the ceiling speakers in the ARC. Please refer to the instructions below to set your audio output to the ceiling speakers.
Mac
- Go to “System Preferences”
- Click on “Sound”
- Under “Output”, select “HDMI SPLITTER”
- Make sure your volume is adjusted.
PC
- Go to “Settings”
- Navigate to “System”
- Click on “Sound”
- Under “Sound”, select “HDMI SPLITTER” to be your output.
- Adjust volume slider
AirPlay
- Connect your device to AirPlay or AirParrot.
- Ensure that your audio settings are selected to “Apple TV”. (Refer to instructions above for Mac or PC)
QSC Speakers (Located by stage)
To connect to these speakers, you will need to use the Mackie 1402 mixing board, located in the back room of the ARC in the audio rack.
Microphones
Unmute channels 1 and 2 on the mixing console. Use the fader to raise or lower the volume on those channels.
iPod/Aux channel
- Connect your device to the 3.5mm Aux cable plugged into the console.
- Adjust your volume on your device. 80%-90% of volume should be enough.
- Unmute channel
- Turn up fader to raise the volume.

Troubleshooting
FAQ
My computer won’t connect to AirPlay. What should I do?
- Restart your computer.
- Make sure your Bluetooth and WiFi are turned ON.
- Attempt connecting to AirPlay again using instructions above.
No audio is passing through to the speakers.
- Make sure your audio settings are correct on your device.
- Your audio settings should be “HDMI Splitter” or “ARC” for AirPlay.
- Make sure your volume is up.
- If audio problems still persist, restart your computer and inform the Solution Center.
My scheduled event needs more than 2 microphones. What should I do?
- For events that require more than the 2 microphones in the ARC, please submit a Media Request ticket here.
