Accessing Windows Software from the Ryan Computer Labs

PLNU provides access to a virtual desktop environment running Microsoft Windows to use pre-installed programs. These virtual desktops provide students and faculty using the Apple computers in a Ryan Computer Lab the ability to utilize programs that may require the Windows operating system, or are otherwise unavailable on Apple's macOS.

How to log in to VDI from the Horizon Client

  1. Once you have logged into a lab computer, launch the Horizon Client.
  2. When the application launches, if you do not see a tile for "pointloma.vmwhorizon.com", click the "+" button, and in the "Connection Server" field, enter https://pointloma.vmwhorizon.com/ and click "Connect"

  3. A browser will open to OneLogin.  Login using your PLNU username and password.
  4. Choose the "Lab" pool and you will be connected to a Windows desktop.
