Installing DisplayLink

If you are trying to use any of the docks around any of our campuses you will need to have DisplayLink installed. Follow these steps to install DisplayLink.

Point Loma Managed Computer

Mac

  1. Go to spotlight search (the magnifying glass in the upper right hand of your screen).
  2. Search for Self Service.
  3. Search for DisplayLink and install.

Windows

  1. Click the Start Menu and type Company Portal. Select Company Portal. (You don't have to type Company Portal in a box, you can just start typing and it search.)
  2. Search for DisplayLink and click install.

 

Personal Computer

If you are not using a Point Loma Managed computer, you will have to download DisplayLink via the Internet. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Here is the link to download DisplayLink: https://www.synaptics.com/products/displaylink-graphics/downloads
  2. From here, click the Operating System you use.
  3. Once you click this, it will bring up a list of downloads. Do NOT download the Beta. 

 

Final Steps

Finally, once you have installed DisplayLink, it will automatically open.

  1. If you are one a Mac, you should see an icon that looks like two rectangles intersecting.
  2. Click on that and make sure the box that says "launch automatically after logging-in" is checked.
  3. From here, you should be good to go and you should be able to display your computer at the docks around our campuses.
